DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY

  • Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET). OEM diagnostic software used to communicate, diagnose and service electronically controlled Caterpillar engines and machines, including excavators, loaders, dozers, industrial engines and power generation engines. These capabilities allow technicians to perform advanced troubleshooting, preventative maintenance diagnostics and electronic system calibrations on Caterpillar equipment.
  • CanDo HD Pro Tab II. Heavy-duty diagnostic platform for trucks, commercial vehicles and off-highway equipment. Supports fault code reading, live data analysis, bi-directional testing and advanced functions including DPF regeneration and system resets. It allows technicians to perform comprehensive diagnostic and parameter programming directly in the workshop or in site whilst in the field.
  • Snap-on Solus+. Professional diagnostic scanner for light and commercial vehicles, providing fast fault identification, live data monitoring and system testing. Integrated with SureTrack for access to verified repair data and known fault solutions.

COMMON FAULTS WE DIAGNOSE

  • Engine Performance Issues. Loss of power, excessive smoke, rough running or poor fuel efficiency caused by faults in fuel systems, turbochargers, sensors or engine management systems.
  • Overheating & Cooling System Faults. Engine overheating due to cooling system failures including radiators, thermostats, water pumps, fan systems or blocked cooling circuits.

Case Study WBBM Pty Ltd

Problem: MAN TGM Tip Truck, Failed fuel injectors
We recently attended a body truck for a customer that was experiencing severe running issues including engine knock, excessive exhaust smoke and contamination caused by water ingress in the fuel system. Our inspection identified significant water and sediment contamination within the fuel tank which had impacted multiple fuel injectors. Using our CanDo HD Pro Tab II diagnostic scan tool we were able to accurately diagnose two failed fuel injectors contributing to the issue.

Repairs: The fuel system was flushed, the tank was drained, internally inspected, cleaned and refilled with fresh diesel. New primary and secondary fuel filters were installed and the affected injectors were replaced. The diagnostic tool was then utilised to correctly program the new injector codes into the engine ECM ensuring the engine was operating within manufacturer specifications.

Outcome: Following repairs the truck was road tested under load with excellent results; no engine knock, no abnormal exhaust smoke and a noticeable improvement in power and performance. Another vehicle safely returned to service.
