Problem: Toyota Landcruiser VDJ79 – Starting & Power Issues
This Toyota Landcruiser came in with a starting fault and power issues.
Repairs: We quickly diagnosed the cause as being from a faulty starter motor. While carrying out repairs, we discovered heavy carbon build-up restricting the engine’s air intake. The starter motor was replaced, and the air intake components were thoroughly cleaned before reassembly.
Outcome: The repair was confirmed on start-up, followed by a road test that showed a noticeable improvement in power thanks to improved airflow. If your vehicle is experiencing starting issues, loss of power, or poor performance, contact PIT Diesel Solutions for reliable diagnosis and repairs.
Problem: 2019 Mazda BT-50 – Performance Faults
This 2019 Mazda BT-50 came into the workshop suffering from ongoing performance faults, reduced engine power and repeated limp mode activation.
Repairs: After carrying out an initial road test and full diagnostic scan we identified 6 active DTC faults including: glow plug faults, diesel particulate matter fault, transmission control system fault, mass airflow control range faults and turbocharger under boost fault.
During our inspection we also identified an oil leak from the air intake pipe assembly. Further inspection revealed multiple fatigue cracks causing major boost pressure loss and triggering ongoing performance issues. Repairs carried out include: replaced complete set of glow plugs, removed and inspected intake assembly components, cleaned intake manifold and associated piping, repaired boost leak issues caused by cracked intake piping, cleared and retested all active DTC faults.
The failed glow plugs were also responsible for the diesel particulate matter fault and transmission control system faults, making these consequential faults rather than standalone component failures. Once a complete new set of glow plugs was installed these related faults were successfully rectified.
Outcome: Once reassembled the vehicle was road tested to confirm all repairs and restore full engine performance.
